About the role
Square is seeking a senior leader to head its Strategic Account Management team for the Mid‑Market segment. The role focuses on retaining and expanding relationships with some of Square’s largest retail and services merchants, driving revenue growth and ensuring long‑term partnership success.
Key responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of 8‑10 Strategic Account Managers, each handling a portfolio of roughly 175 accounts.
- Own overall revenue, logo retention, and growth targets for the Mid‑Market portfolio.
- Provide 1:1 coaching, performance management, and career development for account managers.
- Develop and refine processes, insights, and training programs to improve team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with product, go‑to‑market, and engineering teams to shape tools and initiatives that support account success.
- Lead cross‑functional projects that impact broader company objectives.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading high‑performing sales or account management teams in the mid‑market space.
- Track record of serving as a player‑coach, balancing direct customer engagement with team leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and advocate for customer needs internally.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and a passion for coaching talent.
Required skills
- Strong data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
- Experience with SaaS or integrated omnichannel solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
