Senior Manager, Global Health, Safety & Environment Management

About the role

Alcon is seeking a senior leader to drive its global environmental product compliance strategy. You will guide product design, packaging and end‑of‑life waste management to meet worldwide regulations while supporting sustainable innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the global Environmental Product Compliance strategy across product design, packaging, and waste management.
• Develop and implement globally aligned compliance programs, standards, targets, and performance criteria.
• Represent Alcon with external industry and regulatory bodies such as the Medical Device Summit and EDMA.
• Monitor, interpret, and assess global environmental regulations and create timely compliance plans.
• Identify chemical regulatory risks and lead mitigation through Alcon’s compliance process.
• Manage collection, validation, and maintenance of product‑related environmental data from internal teams and suppliers.
• Partner with R&D to conduct compliance assessments (RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Packaging Waste, Prop 65, etc.) during product development.
• Lead the Product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) program and oversee Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation.
• Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs, external agreements, data collection and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global environmental product compliance within a regulated industry.
• Strong project‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GxP regulations and SOP adherence.
