PaintCare Program Coordinator – New York

About the role

PaintCare is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage its paint stewardship activities across western and central New York. The role is remote but requires extensive travel within the state to support drop‑off sites and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee PaintCare operations in the assigned region, including regular in‑person visits to retailers, reuse stores, HHW programs, and waste facilities.
• Recruit, onboard, and train new paint drop‑off sites, ensuring compliance with contracts and guidelines.
• Coordinate large‑volume pick‑up requests, manage signage and outreach material distribution, and monitor site usage.
• Represent PaintCare at community events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, delivering presentations and educational outreach.
• Maintain a database of site information, generate reports, and review program invoices.

Required profile

• Experience with product stewardship, hazardous waste programs, or related environmental initiatives.
• Familiarity with paint products, retail operations, and trade‑painter communities.
• Strong self‑motivation, ability to work independently from home, and willingness to travel extensively within New York.
• Valid New York driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with typical office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
