Senior Maintenance Technician

About the role

ATS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead advanced maintenance activities across its industrial facilities. The role combines expert-level break‑fix, preventive maintenance, and equipment improvement design to keep production lines running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform expert break‑fix, preventive maintenance, and design improvements on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Program, troubleshoot, and analyze complex control systems, resolving software, hardware, and configuration issues.
• Utilize predictive maintenance tools such as infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball‑bar, and vibration analysis.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and source alternative parts or engineered solutions.
• Operate and set up machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder) and perform welding tasks as needed.
• Maintain CMMS records, analyze equipment data, and contribute to cost‑analysis and quotation preparation.
• Train and coach junior technicians and assume project‑manager responsibilities when assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree with technical focus plus 7 years of industry experience, or 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance standards, 5S, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
