Senior Litigation Counsel

About the role

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel to lead and manage a broad range of litigation matters, primarily focused on state and local issues in Texas. The role serves as a bridge to the Rio Grande Valley legal community and supports the company’s fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage labor/employment, consumer, contractual, commercial and other legal disputes, including third‑party discovery.
• Conduct internal investigations, set litigation strategy, and draft or review discovery requests, pleadings and briefs.
• Participate in hearings, trials and arbitrations; negotiate settlements.
• Provide post‑litigation feedback to mitigate legal risks and implement controls.
• Advise commercial and business teams on escalating pre‑litigation disputes.
• Strengthen relationships with local and state legal and civic communities.

Required profile

• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in law firms, in‑house, or government.
• Litigation experience with trial or arbitration exposure.
• Bar membership in Texas (or another U.S. state in good standing).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and work extended hours or weekends as needed.
• On‑site presence in Starbase, TX.

Required skills

• First or second chair trial experience in Texas state or federal courts.
• Experience in construction & real estate, commercial disputes, personal injury, environmental or regulatory litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and independently in a fast‑changing environment.
• Established reputation within the Rio Grande Valley legal community.
