Senior Lead Network Engineer - Fiber OLT & Metro Inventory

About the role

Forged Fiber, an open-access fiber network provider, is hiring a Senior Lead Network Engineer in Denver, CO or Dallas, TX (hybrid). The engineer ensures the accuracy, integrity, governance and operational effectiveness of production network data and inventory across Fiber Access and Metro environments, acting as the primary authority for OLT, fiber access, Metro Ethernet and transport datasets and their alignment with enterprise inventory systems such as NetBox, Optius/Odin and related asset management tools.

Key responsibilities

• Lead collection, validation, analysis and governance of Fiber OLT, Metro and transport production datasets, and develop operational dashboards and metrics.
• Own inventory governance, synchronize network infrastructure with inventory databases, reconcile NetBox, Optius/Odin and other systems, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Serve as subject matter expert for inventory platforms, define workflows, data models and reporting, and support data migration and system integration.
• Set data quality and reporting standards, build automation for data collection and reconciliation, and define KPIs.
• Support engineering, operations, deployment, finance and supply chain teams, and back audits, compliance reviews and executive reporting.
• Lead inventory transformation, data governance and reporting enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Data Analytics or a related field desired.
• 7+ years of experience in telecommunications network engineering, network operations, inventory management, OSS platforms, production data analysis or related fields.
• Experience with Fiber Access, OLT, Metro Ethernet, transport networks and NetBox/Optius/Odin strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Fiber OLT, access, transport and Metro network technologies.
• Inventory management platforms such as NetBox, Optius/Odin or comparable systems.
• Dashboards, metrics and analytical reporting; automation, scripting and data validation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

What we offer

• Base salary range of $132,000 - $198,000 USD, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
