Senior Lead for IT Services

About the role

Proxima is hiring a Senior Lead for IT Services in Chicago. The role leads and manages global teams across complex client engagements and develops and executes category strategies for IT Services, including professional services, managed services, outsourcing, systems integration and application development and support.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery across client engagements and lead and manage global teams.
• Develop and execute category strategies and lead sourcing and commercial initiatives, from third-party strategy and market assessment through competitive sourcing, negotiation, contracting and implementation.
• Assess supplier landscapes, delivery models, pricing structures and commercial terms to find cost-reduction and value-creation opportunities.
• Analyse IT Services spend, supplier portfolios, rate cards, resource models and commercial structures to identify savings, consolidation and performance improvements.
• Evaluate supplier proposals, challenge existing arrangements and support fact-based negotiations.
• Build business cases, track benefits and keep progress against delivery and value targets clear.
• Work with senior client stakeholders across Technology, Procurement, Finance and the wider business, and lead supplier engagement and client workshops.
• Work in a global, hybrid model and travel as required.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in global IT procurement, with deep category expertise in IT Services.
• Strong knowledge of indirect procurement, ideally gained in a consultancy environment or alongside consultants.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations and commercial optimization programs.
• Experience with major global and regional IT Services providers and managing spend portfolios exceeding $50M annually.
• Consulting mindset, strong stakeholder engagement and commercial judgement.
• Willingness to travel and to build a long-term consulting career.

Required skills

• Subject matter expertise in professional services, managed services, outsourcing, systems integration, application development and maintenance and technology consulting.
• Understanding of IT Services commercial and delivery models, including statements of work, rate cards, time-and-materials, fixed-price, managed service and outcome-based arrangements.
