Senior Hull Electrical Technician

About the role

MANTECH, a defense contractor since 1968, is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Hull Electrical Technician for its Virginia Beach, VA office. The position is full-time and onsite, providing technical support to Navy ships for Navy-standard boats. The projected compensation range is $49,100 to $82,500.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to Navy ships for Navy-standard boats.
• Inspect boats and write detailed inspection reports.
• Develop work packages based on completed inspection reports.
• Create Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) trackers based on approved work packages.
• Track overall progress on boats as work packages are executed.
• Develop cost and effort estimates for customers for scheduled and emergent work.
• Coordinate boat movements and logistics directly with Navy ship representatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated technical experience supporting Navy engineering or boat programs.
• Active Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) captain's license.
• Ability to obtain an active U.S. government Secret security clearance before starting.
• U.S. citizen.
• Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.
• Able to stay seated 50% of the time, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and deliver presentations virtually.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, scheduling and report generation.
• Working knowledge of marine electrical systems (12-volt, 24-volt and 120-volt).
• Demonstrated ability to safely tow, launch and recover boats.
• Preferred: Steyr and Cummins engine certification, familiarity with 7-meter and 11-meter RHIBs.
