Mechanical Integration Engineer – Unmanned Systems

About the role

The Robotics Engineer will support the development, integration, testing, and fielding of advanced unmanned system capabilities for United States Special Operations Command. Based in Virginia Beach, the role focuses on designing, modeling, fabricating, and sustaining mechanical solutions that enable flight, command‑and‑control, and ISR missions.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate mechanical systems onto unmanned platforms and develop launch and recovery solutions.
• Design and fabricate custom housings, concealment structures, and mounting hardware for PCBs and antennas.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and prototypes using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Rhino.
• Perform material selection, structural, vibration, thermal and shock analyses to meet load, durability and environmental requirements.
• Fabricate parts using CNC machining and additive manufacturing technologies (FDM, SLS, SLA).
• Design and install antenna solutions optimized for signal performance and RF interference mitigation.
• Support developmental testing, field demonstrations and sustainment activities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance and TS/SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on engineering experience with Group 1/2 unmanned systems.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lb.
