About the role
The Office of Research Administration at the University of Miami seeks a Senior Grant Administrator to independently manage sponsored proposal reviews and award negotiations. This full‑time position supports academic departments and research units across all campuses, ensuring compliance with agency and university requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Review, analyze, negotiate, endorse, and submit completed proposals and awards.
- Mentor, supervise, and train junior grant administration staff.
- Approve and submit agency requests and maintain system roles.
- Communicate with extramural agencies on proposal and grant matters.
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff on sponsor policies, regulations, and terms.
- Collaborate with investigators, compliance offices, IRB, risk management, and other university groups.
- Track grant applications and follow up with funding agencies.
- Stay current on professional developments through training and conferences.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of research administration experience, including pre‑award proposal development, review, and award setup.
- Experience in a university‑based sponsored programs office preferred.
- Certified Clinical Research Associate (CRA) preferred.
