Senior Government Healthcare Provider Rate Setting Consultant

About the role

Marsh is hiring a Senior Government Healthcare Provider Rate Setting Consultant in Phoenix. The role supports state governments in becoming more efficient purchasers of health services, examining financial reports to understand Medicaid health care experience and the financial performance of managed care organizations, and working with credentialed actuaries and financial executives so that Medicaid dollars are used efficiently. It is a team environment with in-depth training and immediate client-team involvement.

Key responsibilities

• Work with client and team project managers to define scope, timelines and deliverables, and develop project documents including budgets and work plans.
• Translate actuarial results and medical cost trends into policy and reimbursement recommendations.
• Review cost trend and utilization analysis, financial forecasting and revenue adequacy analysis.
• Present financial analyses to executive leadership and state Medicaid stakeholders.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree.
• 10+ years of healthcare financial analysis experience, including Medicaid managed care, rate analysis and provider payment modeling.
• Experience presenting financial analyses to executive leadership and state Medicaid stakeholders.
• Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel financial modeling skills.
• Ability to thrive in an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.

• Base salary range of $115,200 to $230,400, depending on experience, skills, location and other factors; possible performance-based incentives.
