Senior Fleet Planner
waabi · Dallas
Job description
About the role
Waabi, a Physical AI company behind commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis, is hiring a Senior Fleet Planner in Dallas. You will own the operational orchestration of the vehicle fleet, connecting vehicles, crews, commercial customers and internal tooling so that the right vehicle is in the right place with the right people at the right time. It is a high-ownership, high-visibility role at the intersection of logistics, technology and real-world autonomous operations.
Key responsibilities
- Track every vehicle across its full lifecycle, from receiving and build-out through integration, testing, active deployment and maintenance, keeping track of location, state and availability.
- Own day-of fleet execution, managing intra-site and inter-site handoffs and acting as the main point of contact when issues arise, coordinating vehicles, crews, dispatch and commercial operations.
- Track crew staffing against operational capacity, monitor availability and flag situations needing adjustment early.
- Run fleet planning syncs across hardware, operations and engineering teams, maintain weekly resource allocation plans and capacity forecasts, and produce executive-ready analyses with tradeoffs and recommendations.
- Own and evolve the fleet management tooling, defining business requirements with Engineering and Product and driving adoption to replace manual processes.
- Connect data across systems with scheduling and HR systems so fleet data flows accurately without manual overhead.
- Document and continuously improve fleet coordination processes as the fleet grows.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience in fleet planning, asset management or logistics coordination supporting Class 8 or autonomous vehicle fleets.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the full asset lifecycle of an autonomous vehicle fleet, including deployment, maintenance, downtime and operational readiness.
- Ability to own recurring resource and capacity planning cycles, including allocation plans and forward-looking forecasts against operational demand.
- Experience running recurring cross-functional meetings with clear owners and dates.
- Experience partnering with Engineering and Product to define business requirements and automate workflows.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Passion for self-driving technologies and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Occasional travel to other operational sites may be required.
Required skills
- Fleet management and telematics/ELD platforms, or similar operational systems.
- Strong data fluency: combining data across systems, analyzing operational performance and spotting capacity or availability constraints.
- Bonus: working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations such as Hours of Service, DVIR and pre/post-trip inspections.
- Bonus: using AI tools daily to plan, analyze and automate work.
