Senior FinOps Analyst — AI

About the role

We are looking for a Senior FinOps Analyst to lead the measurement, analysis, and optimisation of AI‑related costs across our organisation. You will own the data, analytics and reporting that enable engineering, product and finance teams to make informed decisions about AI adoption and its financial impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own AI cost modelling and attribution across tokens, models, products, teams and shared infrastructure.
• Define unit‑cost metrics that separate usage growth from efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate, explainable cost data with clear lineage and defensible methodology.
• Build Python pipelines to normalise telemetry, provider API data, platform usage and cloud billing into trusted datasets.
• Automate recurring reporting, month‑end close support and anomaly detection.
• Develop practical BI dashboards for engineering teams and credible reporting for finance stakeholders.
• Analyse cost movements, explain drivers and forecast forward‑looking implications.
• Identify, quantify and track optimisation opportunities across model selection, prompt efficiency, caching, batching, retrieval, commitments and tooling overlap.

Required profile

• Proven experience in FinOps, cloud cost management and technology‑focused financial analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, product and finance partners.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.

Required skills

• Python programming for data pipelines and automation.
