Senior Financial Accounting Advisory Consultant – State & Local

About the role

EY’s Government & Public Sector Financial Accounting Advisory Services (GPS FAAS) team is expanding and seeks a Senior professional to support State, Local and Education (SLED) clients. The role focuses on data integrity and quality to enhance accounting, finance, governance and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for clients, ensuring data integrity supports reliable reporting.
• Consult with clients on improving data quality and integrity across financial processes.
• Collaborate with GPS sector service lines to deliver advisory solutions.
• Build relationships with team members and develop expertise in current industry and regulatory developments.
• Refer clients to appropriate EY specialists to broaden business relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience applying US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards and conducting Single Audits (Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance) for state, local or education entities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage clients professionally.
