Senior Field Service Technician – Forklift & Heavy Equipment

About the role

WMH Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair forklifts, heavy equipment, and material handling systems for customers throughout Madison, Huntsville and surrounding North Alabama. This local, customer‑facing position provides a take‑home service van and full support to deliver high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine and power‑train issues and identify root causes.
• Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, safety inspections and equipment evaluations on a variety of forklifts and warehouse equipment.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics and service manuals; use diagnostic software and meters to troubleshoot.
• Manage service calls, prioritize work in the territory, coordinate parts and technical support, and document all activities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers and support developing technicians as needed.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience repairing diesel, heavy or industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to lift at least 50 lb.
