Senior Field Service Mechanic/Technician – Forklifts & Heavy Machinery

About the role

Join WMH as a Senior Field Service Mechanic/Technician, providing on‑site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for forklifts and heavy machinery across warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations in a company‑provided van, delivering fast, accurate service on a variety of material handling equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, ensuring first‑time fixes and maximum equipment uptime.
• Maintain WMH and customer fleets through scheduled inspections, safety checks, and compliance with OSHA standards.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Communicate service updates and recommendations to customers, documenting all work in detailed service reports.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a mechanic/technician in material handling, heavy equipment, or automotive sectors.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and industrial machinery.
• ASE certification (preferred) and forklift certification (a plus).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50+ lb and work in varied weather conditions.

Required skills

• Advanced diagnostic software and schematics interpretation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital work platforms.
• Experience with fleet management systems.
