Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Senior Specialist will lead the Environmental Unit within the EHS Team, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations and maintaining a safe, environmentally sound workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the site’s Environmental Management System and ensure ISO 14001 adherence.
• Manage all air permits (Title V or Synthetic Minor), calculate emissions, and keep emission inventories.
• Oversee stormwater compliance, SWPPP, BMP implementation, inspections and DMR submissions.
• Handle wastewater sampling, reporting, permit maintenance and regulator coordination.
• Direct waste and scrap handling programs, labeling, storage and employee training.
• Maintain SDS library, chemical inventory and support process safety reviews.
• Maintain SPCC plan, lead spill response investigations and train staff on spill procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Management or related field.
• 5+ years of environmental compliance experience, including ISO 14001 and TDEC air, stormwater and wastewater permits.
• Experience in hazardous waste, industrial waste management and preferably tire manufacturing.
• Strong written and spoken English.
