Senior Environmental and Energy Engineer

About the role

The Senior Environmental and Energy Engineer will lead the development and implementation of advanced engineering solutions that promote environmental sustainability, improve energy efficiency, and ensure compliance with federal, state and DoD regulations. This hybrid position is based in Johnstown, PA and reports to the Senior Director, Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute strategies to reduce environmental impacts and manage sustainability programs, including EMS oversight and environmental audits.
• Develop and implement energy optimization plans, conduct complex energy audits, and evaluate emerging renewable energy technologies for DoD projects.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by preparing technical reports, monitoring policy changes, and advising stakeholders on DoD‑specific requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and lead proposal development and presentations.
• Engage with government agencies and industry partners as a subject‑matter expert, representing the organization at conferences and workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency or regulatory compliance.
• In‑depth knowledge of federal and DoD environmental and energy regulations.
• Proven ability to lead projects and work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
