Senior Engineering Manager (Modeling & Simulation)

About the role

Code Metal is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Modeling & Simulation organization. You will oversee a high‑performing team of 10‑30 engineers building scalable simulation, evaluation, data, and decision‑support systems that test complex algorithms and model operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction and scale a Modeling & Simulation engineering organization across backend, data, simulation, infrastructure, and frontend platforms.
• Convert ambiguous customer and product needs into concrete engineering plans and own delivery across multiple workstreams.
• Establish and enforce strong software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and release hygiene.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers, creating clear growth paths and maintaining a high‑quality engineering culture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams of 8+ engineers and scale to a 10‑30 person organization.
• Strong foundation in backend, distributed, or data systems and a track record of setting technical direction.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
