Senior Engineering Manager, ML Platform

About the role

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead Sift's ML Platform team, shaping the roadmap and delivery of training, evaluation, and serving systems for fraud‑detection models. This role blends people leadership with deep technical involvement to accelerate model shipping and ensure production reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the ML platform engineering team, owning roadmap, execution and quality of training, evaluation and serving systems.
• Stay technical by reviewing designs, unblocking engineers and making architecture decisions.
• Partner with strategic customers and sales to deliver technical proof‑of‑value engagements.
• Drive reduction of technical debt while delivering new features.
• Build and mature evaluation frameworks and automate the ML lifecycle.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on engineering experience with at least 4 years managing software, data‑science or ML‑engineering teams.
• Deep technical fluency in machine‑learning systems at production scale, including model training pipelines, feature engineering and model serving.
• Proven track record of leading technical customer engagements and reducing technical debt in high‑traffic systems.
• B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
