Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the SFHP Project in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The engineer provides electrical engineering expertise and leads the delivery of the design aspects of the project, while supporting procurement, construction and testing and commissioning. The role covers all aspects of electrical engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Review and check design documents and electrical deliverables produced by design teams
• Estimate hours for scope changes or additional work and outline a supporting schedule for the discipline
• Support and contribute to the delivery of design reviews
• Mentor apprentices, graduates and junior engineers in the technical development of the electrical engineering team
• Help produce department procedures, work instructions, design guides and templates
• Estimate and schedule production and progress reporting
• Balance scope, schedule and budget to ensure project success

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, including major project management responsibilities and all phases of engineering support (specification, system design, data collection, systems engineering and analysis, problem resolution, documentation)
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization at this location
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Idaho or ability to obtain one within six months
• Good oral and written communication skills, working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software, organizational skills and attention to detail

Required skills

• Familiarity with National Electrical Code requirements
