Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Remedy Robotics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electrical system of its surgical robot platform. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of motor controller boards and peripheral electronics, from schematic capture through production hand‑off, working closely with mechanical, firmware and systems teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and bring‑up core motor controller boards (HMB) and related peripheral electronics.
• Drive board revisions from prototype through design verification and transfer to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with mechanical and firmware engineers to define interfaces, connectors, cabling, and integration requirements.
• Manage EE project timelines, order boards, coordinate assembly, and communicate schedules.
• Contribute to cart‑level electrical architecture, including power distribution, safety circuits, and system grounding.
• Support design controls and documentation for IEC 62304 / IEC 60601 quality system context.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional PCB design and bring‑up experience.
• Strong fundamentals in schematic capture, circuit analysis, EMI/EMC, and power design.
• Hands‑on debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and bench supplies.
• Experience with motor drive circuits, preferably BLDC.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Required skills

• PCB schematic capture and layout.
• EMI/EMC analysis and mitigation.
• Power integrity and signal integrity design.
• Board bring‑up and debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
• Motor drive circuit design (BLDC).
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 13485 standards.
• Flex or rigid‑flex PCB design.
