R&D Technician

About the role

Remedy Robotics is seeking a motivated R&D Technician to build and validate electromechanical prototypes for cutting‑edge surgical robots. You will work closely with engineers to turn drawings, CAD models, and even napkin sketches into functional hardware that supports life‑saving endovascular procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and validate first‑of‑their‑kind mechanical and electrical prototypes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models, creating functional prototypes and assembly documentation for contract manufacturers.
• Identify build issues and recommend improvements to designs, tooling, and assembly methods.
• Set up, organize, and maintain prototype work areas, tooling, fixtures, and shop equipment to ensure a safe, efficient environment.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in prototype, R&D, engineering, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb and work in a hands‑on lab/warehouse setting.
• Strong communication skills to provide helpful feedback to engineers.

Required skills

• Building complex electromechanical assemblies from CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with a wide variety of shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Wiring of electrical components in prototype or manufacturing settings.
• Experience operating manual mills, lathes, or other machine tools (nice to have).
• 3D printer operation, PCB soldering and board rework (nice to have).
• Basic CAD knowledge.
