Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Charge Robotics, you will design and implement the electrical systems that power our robotic factory, directly contributing to the deployment of gigawatts of clean power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, and validate electrical systems including power distribution, control circuits, and signal conditioning for the robotic factory.
• Select and integrate motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and other components to meet reliability and performance requirements.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs while establishing documentation standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in factory and field deployments, collaborating closely with mechanical and software teams.
• Scale electrical systems from design through manufacturing to deployment on solar farms.

Required profile

• Strong experience in electrical engineering with hands‑on skills in power systems, control systems, and industrial automation.
• Proficient in reading and creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and using CAD tools for electrical design.
• Experience specifying and integrating components such as motors, drives, sensors, relays, and PLCs, with knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
• Background in fast‑paced startup environments and willingness to work with (and occasionally safely climb into) large robots.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in or able to relocate to the SF Bay Area and work 4‑5 days per week onsite at the San Leandro headquarters.
• Passionate about mitigating climate change and seeing work deployed on actual solar farms.
