Senior Electrical Design Engineering Manager

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group designs and manufactures advanced control systems for critical military and aerospace applications. The Sr Electrical Design Engineering Manager leads a team of electrical, firmware and packaging engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship while contributing to high‑voltage motor controller projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 6‑10 electrical engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering and operating groups to deliver integrated solutions.
• Provide personal development for direct reports through performance reviews, training, and career coaching.
• Assign programs and projects, ensuring delivery within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Champion continuous improvement in design and development processes.
• Offer expert technical guidance and support during design reviews.
• Validate adherence to internal standards and contribute to design reviews.
• Execute detailed design and analyses, including layout, dynamic performance modelling, thermal and structural analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Firmware or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing or managing electronic controller units and high‑voltage motor controllers.
• 3+ years leading technical projects or initiatives.
• Proven track record managing engineering teams to success.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience interfacing with customers and preparing technical documentation.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance and work onsite in New York.
