Senior Director, Internal Audit

About the role

The Senior Director, Internal Audit leads Wabash’s internal audit function, providing independent assurance and advisory services that strengthen governance, risk management, internal controls, and compliance. This senior leader works closely with the Audit Committee and executive team to evaluate financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.

Key responsibilities

• Define vision, strategy, and operating model for internal audit, including risk‑based assurance, SOX oversight, and coordination with external auditors.
• Set goals and performance metrics aligned with enterprise priorities and Audit Committee expectations.
• Develop and execute a risk‑based audit plan addressing the company’s most significant financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.
• Lead the annual enterprise risk assessment and present the audit plan to the Audit Committee.
• Prepare and present audit results, risk insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, and other stakeholders on ethics, hotline matters, and sustainability reporting.
• Advance data analytics, automation, and enabling technologies to improve audit coverage and efficiency.
• Serve on the Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Committees, providing independent insight on key risks.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading internal audit functions in a large, complex organization.
• Proven ability to partner with Audit Committees and executive leadership on risk and governance matters.
• Strong understanding of SOX, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and financial reporting controls.
• Demonstrated skill in developing risk‑based audit plans and delivering actionable recommendations.
