Accounting Manager

About the role

You will have end‑to‑end responsibility for accounting and financial reporting, working closely with cross‑functional teams to bring rigor and structure to a fast‑growing, manufacturing‑focused organization. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller and owns the preparation and integrity of the company’s financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full general ledger, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement; lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and compile financial reporting packages.
• Supervise one direct report, approve weekly payment runs, assist cash‑management planning, and resolve vendor/PO issues.
• Administer bi‑weekly and weekly payroll runs in partnership with People & Culture, handling payroll accounting treatment.
• Support audit and tax professionals by preparing clean financial packages, compiling PBCs, and managing project timelines.
• Apply GAAP and advanced accounting principles (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718) and ensure proper coding and reconciliation of transactions across departments.
• Assist with monthly budget‑to‑actual reviews, program cost‑tracking, and analysis.
• Contribute to ERP implementation and develop new processes for manufacturing inventory accounting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Active CPA license in Texas.
• 5+ years of experience in public and corporate accounting, with ownership of monthly/quarterly/annual reporting cycles.
• Leadership experience managing teams, meeting tight schedules, and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when partnering with engineering‑heavy product organizations.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with ERP systems and ERP implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718.
• CPA (Texas) certification.
