Senior Director, Global Benefits COE – Orthopedics

About the role

The Senior Director, Global Benefits COE – Orthopedics will lead the design, governance, and execution of employee benefits programs for DePuy Synthes, a global orthopaedics company separating from Johnson & Johnson. This position shapes a competitive, compliant, and employee‑centric benefits strategy that supports talent attraction, retention, and well‑being worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a global benefits strategy aligned with enterprise and Total Rewards priorities.
• Oversee design of health, retirement, risk, wellbeing, leave, and ancillary programs, balancing global consistency with local relevance.
• Establish governance frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage risk across regions.
• Partner with senior HR, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to align benefits with workforce needs.
• Lead vendor strategy, including selection, performance management, and optimization of benefits providers.
• Leverage analytics and benchmarking to drive cost, risk, and employee experience improvements.
• Lead M&A benefits due diligence, integration, and communication strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• 12+ years progressive experience in global benefits, total rewards or HR leadership, with senior‑level responsibility.
• Deep expertise across retirement, health, welfare and global wellbeing programs.
• Strong knowledge of global benefits regulations, governance and risk management.
• Proven ability to partner with executive‑level stakeholders in a matrixed, global environment.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and change‑management skills.
