About the role
The HR Leader, US Commercial will lead employee relations for a large, complex commercial and field sales organization within Johnson & Johnson’s Orthopaedics business, transitioning to DePuy Synthes. This hybrid role supports multiple locations and partners with HR, Legal, Compliance and business leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary employee relations expert for US Orthopaedics commercial and field sales teams, advising on policy, performance management and corrective actions.
- Independently manage complex, high‑risk employee relations cases from intake through resolution, including investigations, disciplinary actions and grievances.
- Plan and conduct thorough workplace investigations, document findings and recommend actions in partnership with HR, Legal and business leaders.
- Interpret and apply company policies and U.S. employment laws to ensure fair and compliant practices.
- Provide risk assessments and guidance for organizational changes, restructures and workforce transformations.
- Identify case trends, develop recommendations to improve leader capability and employee experience.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation and support consistent case‑management practices.
- Develop and deliver training, tools and coaching on performance management, investigations and respectful workplace expectations.
Required profile
- 4‑6 years of progressive experience in employee relations, HR or labor and employment.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex cases and conduct sensitive investigations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and employee relations principles.
- Excellent judgment, risk‑evaluation skills and ability to provide clear, business‑oriented recommendations.
- Effective consulting, influencing and stakeholder‑management abilities across multiple organization levels.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, with ability to produce clear case documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain discretion and handle confidential information with integrity.
