Director of Executive Compensation – Orthopedics

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is separating its Orthopaedics business into the standalone DePuy Synthes company. The Director of Executive Compensation will lead the design, governance and delivery of executive pay programs across the enterprise, reporting to the Head of Talent, Inclusion and Total Rewards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the global executive compensation philosophy, including base, annual incentive, long‑term incentive and executive benefits.
• Provide strategic counsel to the CEO, CHRO, CFO and senior leadership and partner with the Compensation & Benefits Committee of the Board.
• Oversee market benchmarking, peer‑group design and competitive intelligence to ensure alignment with business strategy.
• Manage executive compensation disclosures, proxy statements and regulatory filings.
• Lead cross‑functional teams (Legal, Finance, Tax, Audit) to ensure compliance and high‑quality deliverables.
• Build, coach and develop a high‑performing executive compensation team.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in executive and equity compensation, with global program design.
• At least 5 years of people‑leadership experience, demonstrating talent development.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and Board members.
• Advanced degree preferred; Bachelor’s required.
