Senior Director, Communications & Community Partnerships

About the role

This senior leadership position oversees integrated communications initiatives and builds strategic community and education partnerships across the United States. The role blends public affairs, marketing, education outreach, and executive communications to enhance brand visibility and workforce development impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and expand partnership programs with colleges, universities, workforce development organizations, and local stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with educators, civic leaders, community groups, and public officials.
• Represent the organization at industry events, educational forums, and community engagements as an external ambassador.
• Design and execute strategic communications plans, including media outreach, press releases, executive messaging, and thought‑leadership content.
• Manage proactive and reactive media relations, journalist outreach, and communications tracking.
• Oversee social media strategy, ensuring brand consistency, audience engagement, and performance‑driven content.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, operations, public affairs, HR, development, and legal teams.
• Produce written content such as blogs, articles, award submissions, executive communications, and sustainability storytelling.
• Monitor communications performance, industry trends, and competitive activity to inform future strategies.
• Support workforce development by linking education partnerships to hiring pipelines and career awareness programs.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Education, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
