Senior Director, Club Sponsorship

About the role

The Senior Director, Club Sponsorship serves as the primary strategic consultant between the League Office and the thirty Major League Baseball clubs, guiding clubs to maximize revenue from local partnership portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultative support to club executives on sponsorship staffing, lead generation, asset management, platform development, and retention.
• Develop and disseminate industry‑wide best‑practice documents for club sponsorship teams.
• Identify and pilot innovative revenue‑generation opportunities such as new asset categories.
• Partner with the Club Strategy team to produce benchmarking reports and valuation guidance.
• Monitor global sports trends and macro‑economic shifts to issue proactive category alerts.
• Lead the annual Club Sponsorship meeting and monthly Heads of Club Sponsorship calls.
• Act as liaison between MLB and club sponsorship staff to share insights, best practices, and ensure policy compliance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in sports sponsorship at a professional team, league, or top‑tier agency.
• Strategic consulting or strategy experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all organizational levels.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Willingness to travel 10‑15% across the United States and to Toronto.
