Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Localize is looking for a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to own and improve its technical infrastructure, databases, and platform tooling. You will partner with leadership and product engineers to translate business priorities into reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure across AWS and Cloudflare, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
• Own and enhance deployment and release processes with automation, safe rollouts, and reliable rollback procedures.
• Lead infrastructure security and SOC 2 Type II compliance, handling access, vulnerability, change, logging, and backup controls.
• Drive incident response, post‑incident reviews, and continuous improvement of monitoring using Datadog, Clickhouse, HyperDX, and Grafana.
• Optimize cost, reliability, and scalability of services such as Redis and MongoDB, and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure.

Required profile

• 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a DevOps role.
• Strong customer‑obsessed, business‑aligned mindset, able to explain technical trade‑offs to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working remotely and collaborating with distributed product teams.

Required skills

• AWS services (Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, CloudFront, EC2, ElastiCache, Route 53, VPS).
• Infrastructure as Code tools: Terragrunt, OpenTofu, Terraform.
• Container orchestration and deployment: Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions.
• Monitoring and observability: Datadog, Clickhouse, HyperDX, Grafana.
• Security and compliance: SOC 2 Type II, access management, vulnerability remediation, secrets management.
• Databases: Redis, MongoDB (Atlas + Cloud Manager).
• Scripting and automation via command‑line tools.
