Senior Data Center Provisioning Engineer

About the role

Cerebras Systems builds AI chips and works with model labs, enterprises and AI-native startups, including a multi-year partnership with OpenAI. The Senior Data Center Provisioning Engineer provisions, commissions and validates network infrastructure, servers and related systems across large-scale data center deployments, working with engineering teams, technicians, vendors and operations teams to bring new sites online quickly and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Provision and configure network devices, firewalls and servers using documented processes and automation tools.
• Troubleshoot server, network, configuration, automation and connectivity issues during provisioning and service bring-up.
• Coordinate deployment with engineering teams, cabling vendors and rack integrators, and support network, power and mechanical commissioning.
• Develop and improve provisioning processes, tooling and automation for parallel site deployments.
• Perform post-deployment validation and support integration with monitoring, alerting and operational tooling.
• Coordinate handoff of deployed infrastructure to Operations & Maintenance teams and document procedures, findings and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in network device and server provisioning, data center infrastructure, SRE or a related field.
• Experience upgrading server firmware, switch software and PDU firmware.
• 20% travel required, including international; locations listed include Norway, Finland, Toronto and Sunnyvale.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, and hands-on Linux.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible).
• Networking fundamentals such as PXE, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, load balancing, VPCs, VLANs, BGP and OSPF.
