Senior Data Analyst - BI Transportation

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for its Supply Chain (Transportation) function. The analyst turns complex analytical tasks into clear, data-driven stories, works with other analysts to build and refine analytical processes across diverse datasets, and solves real business problems. Reporting to a Manager or Sr Manager, the role has no direct reports and typically involves less than 10% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Create new dashboards, reports and ad-hoc analyses using data analytics tools (about 30% of the role)
• Carry out existing reporting and analytical work (about 20%)
• Ensure high-quality output with close attention to detail (about 20%)
• Present findings clearly, showing how the analytics fit into the bigger picture (about 20%)
• Build additional technical skills and subject-matter expertise (about 10%)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Preferred: 2-4 years of experience in data mining, statistical analysis, auditing and/or forecasting
• Preferred: prior direct experience analysing supply chain, merchandising or operations data
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Finance or a related quantitative field

Required skills

• Preferred: intermediate SQL or MS Access, and knowledge of another scripting or statistical language such as VBA, Python, R, SAS.NET, C++ or Java
• Preferred: report building with tools such as Excel, JMP, SAS, Mathematica, SPSS or Tableau
• Preferred: experience with databases such as MS Excel, MS Access, SQL Server, Teradata or Oracle
