Senior Counsel - Commercial Transactions & Services Solutions

About the role

Mastercard is seeking an experienced corporate attorney to join its Services legal team. The Senior Counsel will act as a primary legal partner for the Mastercard Services business across North America, supporting high‑volume commercial activities and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services, platform, consulting, and marketing agreements.
• Collaborate with product and go‑to‑market teams to ensure legal compliance during product development and launch.
• Provide trusted counsel to business units on deal terms, data usage, privacy, intellectual property, regulatory, and tax matters.
• Balance commercial objectives with corporate policies, reputational risk, and applicable laws.
• Offer backup support to international legal colleagues as needed.

Required profile

• Transactional training and experience, preferably from a reputable law firm.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to handle high‑volume work.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑oriented, and business‑friendly mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with global teams while taking direction from senior counsel.
