Senior Consultant, Federal Tax and Accounting Methods

About the role

Ryan is hiring a Senior Consultant in federal tax and accounting methods in Chicago. The consultant performs core technical work on engagements and takes ownership of specific workstreams, applying U.S. federal tax accounting knowledge to deliver client value.

Key responsibilities

• Support and mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
• Execute significant portions of tax accounting method engagements.
• Perform detailed tax research and develop technical analyses.
• Draft technical memoranda and client deliverables.
• Interact with clients to gather data and clarify issues.
• Review the work of consultants for accuracy and manage assigned tasks within project timelines.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA, JD or Master of Taxation preferred or in progress.
• 2-4 years of experience in tax consulting or corporate tax.
• Excellent communication, business development and interpersonal skills.
• No supervisory responsibilities; valid driver's license required.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Internet navigation and research.
