Senior Construction Project Manager (Los Angeles)

About the role

CLMI Group is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex construction projects for the Los Angeles Unified School District. The role requires on‑site presence, frequent site visits, and close collaboration with multiple district departments.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve complex construction issues, disputes, and disagreements.
• Develop, assign, and monitor performance of OARs for assigned projects.
• Review project status, schedules, and progress against construction timelines.
• Assess change orders and their financial impact on the district.
• Assist Regional Directors with bid and contract planning, including bid specification assessment.
• Oversee fiscal management, payment applications, and cost control for multiple projects.
• Provide functional direction on schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control.
• Coordinate program activities with district branches such as Environmental Health and Safety, Asset Management, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection, Maintenance, and local districts.
• Develop and recommend internal policies and procedures.

Required profile

• At least 17 years of full‑time professional project/construction management experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing large programs with individual project values exceeding $50 million.
• At least 5 years of experience in educational facility construction, public works, or large commercial projects (including projects outside California).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent (four acceptable pathways listed in the posting).

Required skills

• Design‑Build project experience.
• Building Information Modeling (BIM) proficiency.
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification knowledge.
• Familiarity with Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) standards.
• Understanding of Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
