Senior Construction Manager – North America

About the role

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is looking for a Senior Construction Manager to act as the senior owner's representative for complex logistics facilities. You will lead the full construction lifecycle—from design oversight and partner selection to contract negotiation, construction execution, and handover—across fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations and auxiliary buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Amazon’s senior owner’s representative and primary construction integrator for large‑scale new builds, retrofits and expansions.
• Own project budgets, approve spend, and lead procurement activities.
• Select, negotiate and manage external partners including developers, general contractors, architects and design consultants.
• Oversee design and engineering, conduct design evaluations, conformance reviews and value‑engineering.
• Develop project strategies, allocate resources and monitor performance metrics.
• Identify risks, manage escalations and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate permitting, regulatory compliance and approvals with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
• Champion Amazon’s safety programs and promote a strong safety culture.
• Mentor other construction managers and contribute to best‑practice development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading complex construction projects for logistics or industrial facilities.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets and large cross‑functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable presenting to Directors and VPs.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% regionally and work from a corporate office.
• Ready to relocate or live within commuting distance of the office.
