Senior Construction Estimator

About the role

Edwards Construction Group is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to lead cost planning for complex commercial projects across California. The role bridges pre‑construction, operations, and executive leadership to deliver accurate, competitive estimates from concept through the final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
• Review construction documents to define scope and perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Conduct cost analysis and unit pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and general conditions.
• Prepare complete, defendable bid packages and proposals aligned with project scope and contract requirements.
• Manage the estimating process, including bid coordination, documentation tracking, and pre‑award negotiations.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids while maintaining qualified vendor lists.
• Validate quantities and production assumptions to support GMP development.

Required profile

• Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment.
• Proactive collaboration across owners, designers, and internal teams.
• Experience with progressive design‑build, CMAR, and negotiated delivery methods.
• Ability to manage risk and guide projects from concept to GMP.
• Proven track record in winning work and shaping project scope.
