About the role
Duolingo is looking for a Senior Community Manager to shape how millions of learners interact with the platform. You will work closely with the Head of Community to build the community function from the ground up, driving engagement, safety, and delight across global channels.
Key responsibilities
- Own and lead day‑to‑day community operations across core channels such as Reddit and Discord.
- Drive daily engagement, ensure high conversation quality, and enhance member experience.
- Build and nurture relationships with moderators, ambassadors, and superfans.
- Develop scalable processes, playbooks, and frameworks that uphold safety, trust, and Duolingo’s tone.
- Monitor community health, sentiment, and emerging risks, turning insights into continuous improvement.
- Launch initiatives that grow participation, sentiment, and long‑term community value.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in community management for a consumer‑facing brand, preferably at scale.
- Proven track record of growing and engaging online communities across multiple platforms.
- Strong instincts for safety, trust, and brand voice.
- Ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Customer Support.
Required skills
- Experience managing communities on Reddit.
- Experience managing communities on Discord.
- Experience with Slack or similar collaboration platforms.
