Senior Cleans Process Engineer

About the role

NXP is hiring a Senior Cleans Process Engineer in its Front End Operations business line, based in Chandler, AZ. The engineer supports multiple cleans processes in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility, focusing on improving equipment and process performance, reducing operational losses, supporting development activity and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Reduce defectivity, cycle time and scrap while improving yield
• Improve tool utilization and availability, and reduce recurrent machine faults
• Reduce costs and support development activities
• Develop and write specifications, and implement Six Sigma statistical process control methods
• Carry out capacity planning and modeling
• Take part in or lead cross-functional and lean activity teams, and train others
• Work with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Facilities, Analytical Lab and Device Engineering teams, and collaborate with peers in other factories to implement Best Known Methods (BKMs)
• Work with OEM and second-source vendors

Required profile

• BS or MS in an engineering or science discipline
• 7+ years of experience in process engineering in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment preferred
• Previous experience in a cleans process role preferred
• Ability to work in a high-volume 24x7 environment, handle multiple issues and priorities, and adjust the work schedule as needed
• Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing methods highly desirable

Required skills

• Highly desirable: SCP9400, WS-820L, Akrion GAMA wet benches, Semitool SST, SAT, RADR batch solvent cleaning systems, Screen 80B/80EX spray tools, FSI Mercury/Zeta
• Ability to generate, analyze and interpret equipment and process data and produce timely action plans
• Demonstrated presentation skills, including training others and presenting complex data sets
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills
