Senior Backend / Product Engineer - FinOps & AI Cost Intelligence Platform

About the role

Virtasant is seeking a staff‑level backend‑first Product Engineer to evolve its multi‑cloud FinOps platform into a broader cloud and AI cost intelligence solution. The role is fully remote, offering high autonomy, product ownership, and direct influence on AI‑driven features.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend‑heavy platform features, including AI‑enabled capabilities such as anomaly detection and recommendation agents.
• Develop distributed data pipelines that ingest and process cloud billing, usage, and AI telemetry data.
• Implement reliable systems for backfills, late‑arriving data, and historical reprocessing.
• Collaborate with Product to translate vision into shipped features and shape engineering standards.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep backend expertise.
• Proven ability to design scalable, data‑intensive systems from concept to production.
• Experience building AI‑driven features in real production environments.
• Comfort working in ambiguous, product‑led settings and making trade‑off decisions.
