AI Program Manager
awe · Bentonville
Job description
About the role
Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is a professional services organization supporting non-profits founded by Alice Walton, including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary and Heartland Whole Health Institute. The AI Program Manager is a strategic thought leader who designs and operationalizes an enterprise AI ecosystem across AWE and its diverse portfolio of organizations in healthcare, arts, education and philanthropy. The role reports to the Senior Director of Financial Planning and Strategic Projects, is exempt under FLSA and is based on site in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement a scalable AI architecture and framework supporting multiple agents, workflows and use cases, including reusable patterns for workflows such as financial review, operational analysis and stakeholder reporting.
- Design system prompts, reasoning frameworks, rule sets and meta-rules for agent behavior, and standardize prompt structures.
- Establish a formal AI governance framework aligned with risk management and compliance, covering responsible AI use, data integrity, model behavior and decision transparency, and set up controls so AI outputs can be reviewed, validated, explained and audited.
- Develop and enforce versioning standards and a version control system for prompts, business logic, data schemas and outputs, with traceability of every AI-generated outcome.
- Run a structured change management approach: adoption roadmaps, readiness assessments, stakeholder engagement and training to move business units from manual processes to AI-supported decision-making.
- Partner with technology teams to embed architecture and governance into technical implementations, and with business leaders to prioritize high-value AI use cases and maintain an enterprise roadmap.
- Advise executive leadership on AI strategy, governance and readiness, and represent the organization's AI transformation capabilities internally and externally.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, analytics, mathematics, computer science, information technology or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7-9+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise transformation, technology strategy, governance or architecture roles, including client-facing work.
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable systems, frameworks and operating models, and defining governance frameworks, controls and policy structures.
- Experience in regulated, compliance-driven or audit-sensitive environments is strongly preferred.
- Proven success working with technical, product, data or engineering teams to operationalize technology-enabled transformation programs.
- Strong decision-making skills and expertise in change management and adoption in complex organizations.
