Senior Associate Vice President, Human Resources Operations

About the role

The University of Miami is advancing its HR operating model and seeks a senior leader to oversee HR technology, operations, analytics, and service delivery. Reporting to the CHRO, this role will guide enterprise‑wide HR initiatives and partner across HR, Finance, IT, and Payroll.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Workday HCM and the broader HR technology ecosystem, establishing roadmaps, governance, and optimization.
• Lead enterprise HR transaction services, setting service levels, quality controls, and driving continuous process improvement.
• Oversee the HR Call Center, implementing triage, escalation pathways, and performance metrics.
• Advance workforce analytics and executive reporting to support data‑informed decisions.
• Establish HR data governance standards, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CHRO, leading cross‑functional governance and transformation initiatives.
• Build and lead a high‑performing multidisciplinary team, fostering operational excellence and customer service.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR executive experience leading complex, enterprise‑scale HR operations in a large, matrixed organization.
• Strong strategic perspective, operational discipline, and technology fluency.
• Experience navigating academic, research, administrative, or health‑system environments.
• Ability to translate complexity into clear priorities and influence across boundaries.
