Human Resources Manager (Medical)

About the role

The Manager, Human Resources – Medical leads HR support staff and serves as a consultant to various client groups within the University of Miami Health System. This role oversees employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, performance management and special projects to support the university’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage HR support staff to ensure timely delivery of services.
• Advise employees and managers on employee‑relations practices, policies and procedures.
• Conduct investigations and resolve complex employee‑relations issues, summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Develop and execute work‑environment assessments and recommend continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure personnel actions comply with university policy, employment laws and guidelines.
• Assist with restructuring, succession planning, job description development, salary negotiations and promotions.
• Maintain HR data in the ERP system and generate analytical reports for client bases.
• Lead special projects such as employee recognition programs, committee participation and event coordination.

Required profile

• Strong advisory and counseling skills for employees and managers.
• Experience conducting thorough investigations and presenting objective findings.
• Ability to build morale, improve work relationships and increase productivity.
• Proficiency in HR policy compliance, employment law and internal controls.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse client groups.
