Senior Associate – First Party Insurance Litigation

About the role

Segal McCambridge is seeking a Senior Associate to join its First Party Insurance Practice Group in Austin. The attorney will manage a full docket of first‑party insurance disputes and work closely with national carriers.

Key responsibilities

• Take primary responsibility for an active first‑party litigation docket from inception through resolution.
• Defend bad‑faith lawsuits involving commercial and residential property, business income, UM/UIM coverage, and related disputes.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy in partnership with sophisticated client representatives.

Required profile

• Active Texas law license.
• 2‑7 years of first‑party insurance litigation experience, preferably in property coverages.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required skills

• Legal research and writing.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, and written discovery.
• Litigation advocacy, including depositions and hearings.
