Senior Architectural Draftsperson / Architectural Designer

About the role

A boutique business process outsourcing provider is looking for a Senior Architectural Draftsperson / Architectural Designer to join its remote team and support residential construction projects for US-based clients. The role delivers high-quality construction documents and ensures compliance with regional building codes, working closely with US architects, engineers and project managers.

Key responsibilities

• Draft residential construction documents in AutoCAD, including plans, sections and fully dimensioned drawings
• Develop structural layouts and perform basic structural path sizing for residential buildings
• Create electrical and plumbing riser diagrams
• Maintain drawing annotations and tags (smoke detectors, windows, doors)
• Develop footing details, window schedules and door schedules
• Incorporate redlines and revisions, keeping drawing sets complete and consistent
• Coordinate deliverables to meet New York State residential building code requirements (New Jersey code knowledge is a plus)

Required profile

• Senior architect able to mentor juniors, lead teams and manage project budgets and timelines
• 7+ years of professional experience drafting residential construction documents in AutoCAD
• Proven ability to develop basic residential structural layouts and perform structural load path sizing
• Experience producing electrical and plumbing riser diagrams and residential drawing set components
• Knowledge of the New York State residential building code
• Experience coordinating daily with US-based architects, engineers and project managers
• CEFR C1 English (spoken and written), with a brief self-introduction in English
• Portfolio of residential drafting work and details of PC, monitors, AutoCAD setup, power backup and internet connection
