Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax

About the role

WD is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead and manage indirect tax compliance across the United States and internationally. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate filing, reporting, and audit support for sales/use tax, VAT/GST, property tax and other indirect tax obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex US sales/use tax returns using the Vertex Returns platform and analyze purchase transactions for use tax.
• Manage additional indirect tax filings such as international VAT/GST, property tax, unclaimed property, US Census, gross receipts, and business licenses.
• Prepare technical tax memoranda covering nexus determinations, product/service taxability, and contingent liability quantification.
• Process monthly tax remittances, coordinate with treasury, and forecast cash flow.
• Maintain general ledger reconciliations to ensure SOX compliance and approve resale/exemption certificates.
• Lead cross‑functional tax projects with Finance, Legal, IT, Supply Chain, and Sales.
• Support M&A tax due diligence and manage indirect tax audits.
• Assist with tax‑related system implementations, ERP upgrades, and automation tools.

Required profile

• Progressive experience in indirect tax compliance, preferably in a large corporate environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of US sales/use tax laws and international VAT/GST.
• Experience with the Vertex Returns platform.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
