Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence

Job description
About the role
Horizon Next, a data-driven marketing organization within Horizon Media, is looking for a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence. The role gives team members wider access to data so that both technical and non-technical colleagues can make better decisions, and contributes to the BI team's goal of creating data products and solutions that scale across its client portfolio. The position is listed as hybrid and prefers someone able to work East Coast hours.
Key responsibilities
- Own data modeling and reporting for individual clients so internal and client teams have the data needed to plan and optimize media campaigns.
- Partner with senior BI team members on cross-client data modeling and reporting, bringing together disparate data sources into models usable by technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create and maintain automated data tests to ensure high data quality across data models.
- Work with Data Engineering to bring new data sources into the data warehouse and add them to new data models.
- Build and prototype new data products, and build visualizations and dashboards that surface trends and insights to business teams and clients.
- Mentor teammates and drive education and adoption of data products across teams.
- Act as liaison between the Analytics team and other internal teams on data sources, access and reporting availability.
- Educate non-technical team members on data products and help clients define meaningful KPIs for media campaigns.
Required profile
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics or comparable experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence or a similar field.
- 2-3 years of experience in media, advertising or a similar industry.
- Background in data or analytics with a focus on building processes, automation and tooling rather than insights and recommendations.
- History of automating processes to reduce manual work.
- Proven ability to work with both business and engineering/technical teams.
Required skills
- Strong SQL background; 1-2 years of Python or a similar language.
- 1-2 years with a cloud data warehouse such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery or Snowflake.
- Preferred: Git, Presto, Hive or Spark SQL, and BI/dashboards tools such as Tableau, Looker or Domo.
- Preferred: dbt.
What we offer
- Salary range of $95,000 - $115,000, with actual pay depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
- Discretionary bonus and a total rewards package including health, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, company-paid holidays and unlimited PTO.
- Mental health and wellness resources, pet insurance, childcare resources, identity theft insurance, fertility assistance and fitness reimbursement.
